Travis County Bee Cave Road District No. 1 of Travis County, Texas, uses its property taxes to fund its debt service obligations.

The no-new-revenue tax rate is the tax rate for the 2023 tax year that will raise the same amount of property tax revenue for Travis County Bee Cave Road District No. 1 from the same properties in both the 2022 tax year and the 2023 tax year.

The voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate that Travis County Bee Cave Road District No. 1 may adopt without holding an election to seek voter approval of the rate.

The proposed tax rate is greater than the no-new-revenue tax rate.  This means that Travis County Bee Cave Road District No. 1 is proposing to increase property taxes for the 2023 tax year.

A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED TAX RATE WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2023 at 9:30 AM in the Travis County Commissioners Courtroom, located on the first floor at 700 Lavaca Street, Austin, Texas 78701.

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC MAY ALSO GIVE COMMENTS on the proposed tax rate during the hearing by calling (800) 304-1055.

The proposed tax rate is not greater than the voter-approval tax rate.  As a result, Travis County Bee Cave Road District No. 1 is not required to hold an election at which voters may accept or reject the proposed tax rate.  However, you may express your support for or opposition to the proposed tax rate by contacting the members of the Board of Directors of the Travis County Bee Cave Road District No. 1 at their offices or by attending the public hearing mentioned above.

The 86th Texas Legislature modified the manner in which the voter-approval tax rate is calculated to limit the rate of growth of property taxes in the state.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
