  • In the 403rd District Court, a Travis County Jury found the Defendant guilty of Manslaughter and Felon in Possession of a Firearm in State v. Antoine Kirkwood [D-1-DC-18-301185 & 18-900211]. The jury sentenced the Defendant to 50 years on the Manslaughter case and 20 years on the Possession of Firearm case.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
