December 30, 2014 - Today, the office of the Travis County Voter Registrar will cancel 35,796 voter records from the active voter roll of Travis County in accordance with state and federal laws. The canceled voter records include voters who have not voted in two consecutive general elections and the U.S. Postal Service has returned their mailed voter certificates or other correspondence as undeliverable.

The cancellation of voter records takes place every two years and its purpose is to maintain accurate voter records. The names of voters removed in 2014 are available online at https://tax-office.traviscountytx.gov/reports-data.

If a voter record is canceled, it does not mean a person cannot vote. A voter registration application completed and submitted by the next deadline ensures voting eligibility. The next regularly scheduled election conducted by Travis County is the May 9, 2015 Joint General and Special Election. The deadline to register is Thursday, April 9, 2015.

Voters may download a voter registration application and check their voting status online at www.traviscountytax.org.

For telephone assistance, contact the tax office at (512) 854 9473. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
