Effective January 9, 2017, all customers applying for a passport using form DS-11 must submit a clear copy of their citizenship evidence in addition to their original or certified copy of U.S. citizenship. If there is writing on both sides of the citizenship evidence, then copies must be made of the front and back of the document.

Customers who submit an expired U.S. passport book or passport card as proof of citizenship evidence do not need to submit an additional photocopy.

Customers can also submit a second certified copy of their citizenship evidence in place of a photocopy. The second certified copy or photocopy will be retained by the Department of State.

Photocopies of U.S. Citizenship:

  • Must be Legible
  • Must be on white 8.5” x 11” standard paper
  • Must be copied using black ink
  • Cannot be double-sided

Also required at the time of processing is a photocopy of the front and back of your valid government issued ID that you present when you apply.
Requirements:

  • Photocopy must be on white, 8 ½ x 11” standard paper
  • Photocopy cannot be double-sided
  • Do not decrease the image size (although you may enlarge it)

Please bring those photocopies with you when you come to our office for processing. If you do not bring a photocopy, our office can copy those documents for a fee.

  • 1-5 Pages $1.00
  • 6-10 Pages $2.00
  • 11-15 Pages $3.00
  • 16-20 Pages $4.00

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
