AUSTIN, TX (June 16, 2015) — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In the interest of public safety, and due to the deteriorating weather that is predicted, Travis County Clerk Dana DeBeauvoir announced that the County Clerk’s Office will be closing at 4:00 PM today. At this time, we expect to re-open as usual at 8:00 AM on Wednesday however the public are encouraged to monitor their favorite media outlet.

We regret any inconvenience that this may cause. We encourage everyone to be safe and remember: Turn around, don’t drown.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $34.51.
