Lauren grew up in Austin and attended Lake Forest College before returning to Austin to attend the University of Texas School of Law. During law school she had an internship with the San Diego Public Defender and a clinic with the Travis County Juvenile Public Defender. After law school she worked for the Colorado State Public Defender before returning to Austin to work for the Travis County Public Defender.
TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $34.51.
