Gang Resistance Education And Training
Constable Precinct 1 has a select number of deputies that are certified to teach the "G.R.E.A.T." Programs which stands for "Gang Resistance Education And Training" (G.R.E.A.T.) The program is an evidence-based and effective gang and violence prevention program built around school-based, law enforcement officer-instructed classroom curriculum. The Program is intended as an immunization against delinquency, youth violence, and gang membership for children in the years immediately before the prime ages for introduction into gangs and delinquent behavior.
Precinct 1 has partnered with several schools within the community to teach and provide instruction and direction to the youth throughout our community. These schools and private organizations include: Garcia Middle School, Southwest Keys College Prep Academy, and Greater Expectations Summer Camp Program just to name a few.
