Dear commissioners, As you are all too keenly aware, our community still has much work to do in vaccinating our must vulnerable and highest risk communities. I would like your thoughts about an opportunity to leverage the expertise of community based organizations and the Court’s current investments in vaccination strike teams. What do you think about a $100,000 pilot program that would provide $5,000 grants to 20 community serving organizations for organizing vaccine clinics to serve no less than 150 people. We know that our community based organizations have the knowledge, skill, and experience to organize these types of events. These additional resources will help support their efforts while at the same time providing the county with a measurable way to demonstrate success. Harris County has piloted a similar initiative to great success. I appreciate your thoughts on how Travis County can continue to invest resources to vaccinate our most impacted and hardest to reach communities.  Judge Brown
