Within the parameters of the Public Funds Investment Act and the Travis County Investment Policy, the Investment Management Division:
- Manages Travis County’s daily liquidity needs and the investment portfolios.
- Through an inter-local with Central Health (Travis County Healthcare District), Travis County investment staff also manages the operating cash and the Central Health investment portfolio in accordance with their investment policy.
- Monitors market trends, analyzes yield curves and spreads between various approved investment options, taking into consideration the liquidity needs while maximizing security and interest income.
- Manages the depository contract, providing continuous analysis of the County’s uses within a complex regulatory environment; ensuring the County’s needs are met using the industry’s latest fraud prevention products.
- Executes judgments focused on the safety of principle in all portfolios, while maximizing investment income and providing sufficient liquidity set forth in the Investment Policy.
