The Planning and Budget Office keeps records related to the Travis County budget, economic development, Public Improvement Districts, County investments, bank depository contract, and County Corporations.

This office does not keep records related to permits, platting, drainage, or road projects. Please direct those questions to the Transportation and Natural Resources Department here: About Us (traviscountytx.gov)

Please note that Travis County does not have a central open records department. You must submit your request to the appropriate department. Please use the Records Request Portal (traviscountytx.gov) to see the list of other offices and departments with open records requests portals.

The Public Information Act does not require a governmental entity to conduct research, create documents, answer questions, nor forward requests.

Step 1

Complete the Request For Public Information Request Form.

Request must include contact name, phone number, email address, and indicate contact preference.

Step 3

Upon receipt of the request, the Planning and Budget Office will send confirmation within 24 hours.

Step 4

Per Government Code § 552.221 (d), the Planning and Budget Office will respond to your request within 10 business days after the date of receipt. If the Planning and Budget Office cannot produce the information within 10 business days, the office will certify the fact in writing and set a date within a reasonable timeframe when the information will be available.

TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 3.5 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $9.12.
