The Honorable Dayna Blazey

Judge Dayna Blazey

Judge Blazey has served as the presiding judge of the 167th District Court since January, 2021.

Judge Blazey also presides over the Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facility (SAFPF) Re-entry Court, which is a specialized Drug Court for SAFPF graduates during the aftercare portion of the SAFPF program. The SAFPF program has proven to be effective in resolving one of the primary causes of criminal behavior and personal destruction in the offender population. Successful completion of SAFPF has shown to make a difference in the lives of offenders and their families.

Judge Blazey implemented the 167th Special Needs and Prevention Program with the goal to reduce recidivism and minimize noncompliance of conditions of probation by providing court support to youthful offenders who are on supervision for a serious offense. Involvement of the court has shown to increase structure and accountability.
