Community involvement is key to the success of the Collaborative Northeast District Plan, and we hope to reach all who visit, live, and work in the area. This page outlines some of the ways community engagement is built into the planning process. As opportunities arise, we encourage you to share your input to help shape the Plan!

Northeast Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

Creating a Northeast CAC was approved by Travis County and the City of Austin. Members of the City-County Working Group will create the CAC selection process. First, the CAC will help shape the community engagement component of the Northeast District planning process. Second, the CAC will engage with a mix of new and existing stakeholders.

A focus will be on including former and current residents of the Northeast Planning District, those with a historical connection to the District, and those who have not been involved in previous engagement efforts.

Other Community Engagement Opportunities

Once the CAC is formed, it will work with the City-County Working Group to create a Collaborative Community Engagement Plan (CEP). The CEP will build upon previous work in the community and serve as a living document that can be updated based on community input. In this way, community members will help shape the continual design and implementation of the CEP.
