Need help accessing food? Travis County helps provide free food essentials for residents in partnership with the Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB).

Eligibility
Travis County residents may access any of the six Community Center food pantries once every 30 days.
What to Expect
Each household is provided food for approximately 5 days.
You can expect fresh and frozen foods, canned goods, dry goods, cereals, and snacks.
Cost
The food from our food pantries is completely free.
How to Apply
Gather required information
Before starting the application process, make sure you have all your personal information ready:
- Name
- Address
- Number of people in the household, (phone number and date of birth optional)
- Other household members names, relationship, date of birth (optional)
- Government assistance information, household income, or household crisis
An ID is not required unless a designated person (proxy) is picking up food for the eligible household.
Schedule an appointment (optional)
If you prefer to schedule an appointment, contact the Community Center of your choice by phone.
Ask our staff for hours of operation and set up your appointment
While you don’t need an appointment, we recommend scheduling one. Food pantries are prepared on a first-come-first-served-basis.
Complete an application
There are several ways to apply for access to the food pantry:
Fill out our online food pantry application.
Follow the instructions and fill out the application completely. Make sure you submit the application when you’re done.
Arrive at the Community Center
Once you’re at the Community Center of your choice:
Arrive about 5 minutes early.
Inform the Travis County staff that you are there to pick up food from the pantry.
Get your food
Wait for food in the designated area. Food pantry items will be brought to you for you to load into your vehicle.
If you need assistance with loading, please let the staff know and they may be able to help you.
Plan in advance
Pantries are available once every 30 days. They are prepared on a first-come-first-served basis. Waiting times may vary.
