The County Executive for Health & Human Services reports directly to the Travis County Commissioners Court. The County Executive has direct management responsibility for the Travis County Health and Human Services and the Travis County Texas AgriLife Extension Office. The County Executive also has direct accountability for the Community Development Block Grant, Public Health, and Animal Services provided to Travis County residents via an Interlocal agreement with the City of Austin.

The Community Liaison Program promotes, advertises and assists in the implementation of the Travis County Health and Human Services programs through contact with various organizations, government agencies and outreach initiatives. The Community Liaisons assist neighborhood associations and non-profits in becoming self-sufficient by providing technical assistance, advocacy, and resource development. TAX RATE: TRAVIS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.7 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $34.51.
