Central Health works to develop and maintain a network of health care services by identifying and prioritizing the community's needs and meeting those needs in the most effective and efficient ways possible. Rather than directly providing health care services, Central Health has developed a unique approach of contracting with a variety of providers to meet the health care needs of eligible residents.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) works with communities to promote safe and healthy families and protect children and vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation. We do this through investigations, services and referrals, and prevention programs.
DFPS has five major programs that do this important work:
- Adult Protective Services
Protects the elderly and people with disabilities from abuse, neglect, and exploitation through investigations and services. - Child Protective Services
Protects children from abuse and neglect through services, foster care, and adoption. - Investigations
Investigates reports of child abuse or neglect to determine if any child in the family has been abused or neglected. If the children aren't safe, the investigator starts protective services. - Prevention and Early Intervention
Manages community-based programs that prevent juvenile delinquency and child abuse and neglect. - Statewide Intake
Takes reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation from across the state through its Texas Abuse Hotline (1-800-252-5400) and through the website TxAbuseHotline.orgExternal Link 24-hours a day, every day of the year.

Guided by the vision that seniors and adults with disabilities should live in a supportive community with dignity and as much independence as possible, Family Eldercare provides essential services to seniors, adults with disabilities and caregivers.
Goodwill Job Source Program
(Various locations around Austin)
Goodwill's Job Source programs are designed to help individuals with barriers or disabilities find employment through basic job-related services. Goodwill's Placement Specialists and Case Managers will put together a customized plan of services for each Job Source participant and continue to work with each individual through retention once they are working.
Lifeworks

Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization focused on helping youth and young adults acquire counseling services, housing, education and workforce training, and youth development programs. Everything we do is focused on creating self-sufficient individuals, and in turn, strong, stable families. LifeWorks Youth & Family Alliance offers more than 20 programs that can be accessed alone or in combination to help our youth and families achieve self-reliance.

Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid

Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) is a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to low-income residents and represents migrant and seasonal farm workers. TRLA operates public defender programs in several Southwest Texas counties, representing the poor who are accused of felonies, misdemeanors and juvenile crimes.
Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas

Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas provides civil legal services to low-income people through attorney volunteers in Travis County. Our attorneys help people with critical matters, such as helping victims of abuse end violent relationships, connecting persons with disabilities with medical and financial benefits, and keeping people out of homelessness by defending against wrongful evictions and foreclosures.
