Food Pantry: 

The Travis County Community Center at Oak Hill has a food pantry to provide healthy food to Travis County residents in need. Travis County residents may access any one of the Travis County Community Center food pantries once every 30 days. Food for the household for approximately five days is provided, including fresh and frozen foods. (Food offered varies from week to week depending on availability.)

The food pantry is available by appointment only. Please complete the Food Pantry Application prior to making an appointment here.

To receive a food pantry, complete an application (link above), call for an appointment (512.854.2130) and come to the Community Center during food pantry hours.

Food Pantry Hours:

• Monday* 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Tuesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
• Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Pantry opens at 1:00pm on Mondays for restocking.

There are many resources to help job seekers at the Community Center. Our Computer Resource room includes two work stations, a printer and a telephone. These are free to users for job search activities, and to apply for services. There is also current information about jobs and other services available on our Community Resources Bulletin board.

Our clothing closet is open during business hours to all individuals receiving services through Family Support Services. We have gently used clothing donated by various community members. We only have clothing available and don’t carry home goods. If you are interested in accessing the Clothing Closet please let someone at the front desk know. Community members are eligible to receive clothing once every 30 days.

We accept donations of gently used clothing. If you have clothing that you would like to donate please contact us at the main number or bring your donation by the community center. All our clothing is given out at no cost to our clients.

Social Work and Case management page

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays our Senior Program provides a place for older adults to gather for games (bingo, dominoes, cards, bridge, puzzles), physical activity (Tai Chi, Chi Cong), conversation and a shared nutritious lunchtime meal

Congregate Meal sites are FREE for everyone and open to ANYONE age 60 or over! There is no charge for the meal, but a donation can be made to Meals on Wheels and More if the participants want to do so. Come share good conversation, fun games and a meal with us. We’ll be looking forward to your company, WE LOVE SEEING NEW FACES!

WIC is available inside the Community Center during the following times:

• Wednesdays from 8:00 am to 4:30pm
• Please call (512) 972-4942 to see if you are eligible or make an appointment

The Community Center has two meeting areas that can be reserved for community benefiting events and groups. Space is available on a first come first served basis and can be used by groups that meet the following criteria:

1. No religious or political functions allowed at the Community Center
2. No charge or fee for attendees of any event held at the Community Center
3. Groups reserving the meeting area must have a community focus or benefit and cannot be for-profit.
4. No private parties
5. Events at the Community Center must be open to the public

Please contact us at the main number 512-854-2130 if you have any reservation requests or questions. Examples of groups that use our Meeting area include 4-H groups, Girl Scouts, 12 step groups, classes for families involved in Truancy Court at the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 3, and Chinese Culture Groups.

• New Hygiene items are always needed for our clients and are distributed along with food to those seeking assistance. Below are some examples of frequently requested items:

Gently used clothing for adults and children

Donations can be accepted Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Please call 512-854-2130 to coordinate a drop-off time. Donation receipts are also available upon request.
