In October 2023, the Travis County Commissioners Court and the CapMetro Board approved the 2023 Transit Development Plan (TDP) for Travis County.

Background

The Travis County TDP addresses public transit needs in areas that are unincorporated, included in the 2020 Census urbanized area, and are not in the CapMetro or Capital Area Rural Transit System (CARTS) service areas.

The TDP is a three-year plan developed and implemented by Travis County and CapMetro through an Interlocal Agreement.

The plan is scheduled to be updated every three years and each update must have the approval of the Travis County Commissioners Court and the CapMetro Board.

The estimated cost of the Travis County 2023 TDP for the three years covering FYs 25-27 is approximately $4.7 million. The TDP is funded by Travis County and Section 5307 Federal transit funding provided by CapMetro.
